Dermaplaning

New Treatment now available

Dermaplane & Glo £35

Dermaplane & Hydrate £45

Introductory offer £10 off your first treatment.

Glo – A gentle exfoliation using a sterile, surgical blade that removes the top-most layers of dead skin cells and the fine, vellus hair to leave skin immediately smooth, supple and vibrant. Dermaplaning also allows topical products applied to the face to be more effective as they are able to penetrate the skin better allowing your skin to really GLO!

Hydrate – This is the same treatment as Dermaplane & Glo with an added soothing Collagen mask. An intensive 15 minute brightening treatment mask to combat damaged and dull skin. Combined with an anti-aging collagen formula to improve skin clarity, even skin complexion and diminish pigmentation.

How does it work?

The exfoliating treatment works by scraping dead cells and fine hairs from the skin’s surface with a surgical scalpel, moving the tool slowly across the face. It’s an instant skin refresh. How? Build-up of dead skin can make for a ‘dull’ complexion and encourage breakouts (from clogged pores and blocked hair follicles).

Removing epidermal skin also allows products to penetrate more readily into the deeper layers. Therapists may recommend this treatment to prepare the skin for deep chemical peels, superficial chemical peels or before/during a facial to help absorb the products.

Dermaplaning is most often used on those with rough, dry skin, mild acne scarring, or fine lines and wrinkles.

This is also a great treatment for those who are pregnant or nursing who want a deep exfoliation, but are not allowed to use peeling agents on their skin. It is also a first choice for those who have excess vellus hair on the skin. This hair often causes a build-up of dirt and oils in the follicles, so removing the hair gives you healthier looking skin.

How will my skin look?

Pretty great, pretty fast. The treatment results in a more refined, smooth, “glowing” appearance. You’ll likely experience a little redness at first, and your skin may feel drier than usual for a few days, but the downtime post-treatment is seriously minimal. So much so, you could head for a treatment on your lunch break, and be back at work – around 40 minutes later – looking extra glowy. Do make sure to layer up the sun cream though – after exfoliation, your skin is especially susceptible to sun damage.

How long do the results last?

For a few weeks, (up to four at best). Dermaplaning can remove ‘three weeks’ worth’ of dead skin cells, meaning a month-long glow should ensue. If you’re a skincare obsessive then this is the best bit: removing dead cells means products can be absorbed deeper beneath the skin’s surface, more easily, and makeup will apply more evenly.

Who Shouldn’t Get A Dermaplane Facial?

A dermaplane facial is suitable for most skin types, but if you have deep cystic acne or sensitive skin, you may want to sit this treatment out. if you have acne, wait until breakouts are clear. For sensitive skin, note that 21 days’ worth of dead skin cells will be removed, so skin will be more sensitive post-treatment.

Other factors may also mean the treatment is not suitable, please speak to our therapists to check, before booking, if you have any concerns
